Bavin's Gulls

Bavin's Gulls or Sloe Grove Islands are a group of islands in the Thames , in England upstream of Boulter's Lock , near Maidenhead , Berkshire . The beauty of this stretch of river was praised by Jerome K. Jerome in the novel Three Men in a Boat .

Bavin's Gulls consists of two larger and two small narrow wooded islands. The islands are part of Cliveden's possession and are owned by the National Trust . The mooring of boats overnight is permitted on three of the four islands, the fourth island is a nature reserve and may not be entered.
