Bavarian Fencing Association

The Bavarian Fencing Association (BFV) is the Bavarian state fencing association based in the House of Sports in Munich .

On October 20, 1907, the forerunner of today's Bavarian Fencing Association - the "Fencing Association of Bavarian Gymnastics Clubs" - was founded in Neu-Ulm . On December 21, 1949, before the official approval of fencing by the Allies, Ludwig Meider invited to an expected founding meeting in Fürth . On March 21, 1950, the managing director of the Allied High Commission gave the Federal Chancellery permission to resume sport fencing . Since then, the association has been the umbrella organization for all fencing clubs in Bavaria .

Birgit Anzenberger has been president of the association since May 1st, 2015.
