Anchor center Manching / Ingolstadt

The anchor center Manching / Ingolstadt (formerly Bayerische Transitzentrum Manching-Ingolstadt ) is a facility for the accommodation of asylum seekers , especially those with little prospect of staying , in the city of Ingolstadt . The Bavarian State Office for Asylum and Repatriations , which was established with effect from August 1, 2018 and , as a foreigners authority, fulfills nationwide tasks in the enforcement of immigration regulations, is also located on its premises .

The center was initially set up as an arrival and repatriation facility (ARE) and was intended to enable accelerated procedures at this point in time and, in the event of a rejection, also a rapid repatriation. In 2017 it was rededicated as a "transit center". It was opened to other groups of refugees. Since August 2018, the accommodation has been the Upper Bavarian anchor center. At this point in time, all existing Bavarian initial reception facilities and transit centers were renamed " anchor centers ".

The center at four locations was or is under the supervision of the administrative district of Upper Bavaria and is managed by the Munich company PulsM . The residents come z. B. from Ukraine or Nigeria . You receive full board and pocket money . The residents are subject to restrictions with regard to bringing food into the camps. The camps are guarded around the clock by security services and are fenced. When leaving and entering the camp, residents and visitors have to log in and out. Some of the school-age children attend public schools. Childcare is offered in the camp for children who are not yet of school age. Volunteers organize various leisure activities in consultation with the operator, such as games or handicrafts. Homework support and German conversation are also offered. Specialists from the city of Ingolstadt accompany the volunteers through regular information and discussion evenings.

In September 2019, the organization Doctors of the World withdrew from its collaboration with the anchor center. The reason given by the chairman of the board, Heinz-Jochen Zenker, was that the “sick living conditions” in this facility would prevent successful treatment.
