Please note the note on the applicable legal version ! |
The Official Service Law Act 1979 is an Austrian law that regulates the employment relationships of all employees who are in a public service relationship with the Republic of Austria ( federal level ), i.e. federal civil servants. They are referred to as civil servants in the law (Section 1 (1) BDG 1979).
This federal law does not apply to civil servant trainee judges and judges, but the Judges and Public Prosecutor's Service Act (Section 1 (2) BDG 1979). The Civil Service Law Act is only partially applicable to public prosecutors, to whom the Judges and Public Prosecutor Services Act also applies (Section 1 (3) BDG 1979).
The public-law employment relationship between local authorities and their employees (public employees) was called service pragmatics from 1914 to 1979 , and has been called civil service law ever since .
