Bearer service
Bearer services are a term from GSM mobile radio and denote carrier services. These are the various transmission options that a network operator can offer its customers. Bearer services are not to be confused with teleservices . The latter are based on the former. These are internal parameters that are exchanged between different network components and thus offer or deny the end user various carrier media and carrier services. A bearer service is defined by its number. The following bearer services are available in the GSM:
No. | Name Bearer Service | comment |

61 | Voice and data | You can switch between language and data. Data phase corresponds to services 21-26 |
81 | First language, then data | After switching to data, no more voice can be transmitted. Data phase corresponds to services 21-26 |
Most of these values are obsolete today because there are no longer such slow modems or you hardly ever communicate from GSM with modems or ISDN cards, but rather GPRS or HSCSD . However, they are still important.
