Synchronicity

The word synchronous ( ancient Greek σύν syn 'with', 'together' and χρόνος chronos 'time') means in the original sense simultaneously or coinciding in time , furthermore also to several rooms at a time . The synchronism is the unifying order of events by a calendar , or a (for the historical dating important) coincidence of timing of events.

• In technology , it is the name for processes that are coordinated in time , identical time , same oscillation or frequency and the like. An application example is the synchronous motor , the rotor of which rotates synchronously with the rotating field specified by the mains frequency .
• In software development , synchronicity is the ability to carry out two quasi-simultaneous accesses to an object without conflicts (for example with simultaneous read and write access by two other objects).
• In e-learning , occasions for simultaneous communication, e.g. B. called chat or virtual classroom .
• When it comes to film , it is called synchronous when the picture and sound coincide in time. The time of creation and the type of creation of image and sound are irrelevant. It is important that movements and the related sounds in the performance are perceived as coincident in time. Speakers and actors can be different. The spoken text may originally be in a different language. The process of bringing the translated text and image into alignment is called synchronization .
