content
Actually, carefree summer holidays should wait for the youngsters. But suddenly a letter flutters into the house: The youth center is to be closed in a few weeks due to lack of funds. Gillan, the head of the youth club, decides to make a bold rescue attempt: his young band musicians and hip-hop dancers are to put on a big live concert with teenagers from the twin city - classical musicians and ballet dancers. The crossover does not only take place between these fundamentally different musical worlds. The young people also come from very different backgrounds. Stupid bet, hormones going crazy and a jealous ex-lover make the mess complete. Old rocker Gillan has his hands full to unite the youngsters for this bold music and dance project and to save the youth center, which is threatened with closure.

Reviews
"Fresh wind in the opera house"
“The story is a classic: Music connects across borders, making music together makes you strong. It works in " Brassed Off " and with the " Children of Monsieur Mathieu ". With "Beats!" It works even better, even more authentically. "
"The social crossover on stage is also reflected in the music composed by Axel Goldberg [ sic ]: Pop melodies and orchestral arrangements are the basic ingredients, in between rap and Latin grooves as well as timeless blues."
