Flora and fauna

British Columbia's ecosystem is divided into different biogeoclimatic zones using the Biogeoclimatic Ecological Classification (BEC) Zoning System . These biogeoclimatic zones are characterized by a fundamentally identical or very similar climate and the same or very similar biological and geological conditions. This results in a very similar population of plants and animals in the respective zones. The park is then assigned to the Sub-Boreal Spruce Zone with the Subzone Dry Warm (SBSdw1).

The forests in the park consist mainly of common Douglas fir , Engelmann spruce , rock mountain fir , coastal pines and American quivering poplars . In various areas of the park, the forest is still growing as primary forest .

The park includes one of the most important winter retreats for mule deer . In addition, here are still a subspecies of the endangered tail chicken ( Tympanuchus phasianellus columbianus "Columbian sharp-tailed grouse", Eng.) Before. The great blue heron and the North American bittern can also be found in the park .

Northern Pikeminnow and various sucker carp (e.g. Catostomus macrocheilus or Catostomus catostomus ) are found in the waters .
