Covering (military)

The cover is a larger or smaller division of troops to secure individual persons or smaller units, e.g. B. couriers , reconnoitering officers, detached artillery or those departments that are incapable of fighting themselves.

Coverings on transports of prisoners must also ensure that prisoners are guarded .

Comparable departments are the escort and the convoy .
