history
Ulrich Beckmann founded Beeline in 1990 as a wholesaler and sold fashion jewelry to international companies. In 1991 he used the concession principle; and department stores, drugstores and fashion stores offered beeline jewelry.
The company's own brand "bee bee" was supplemented by SIX in 1998. After eight years, beeline built up a second mainstay. The first SIX brand retail store was opened in Cologne in 2000 . At this time beeline began to open up other European countries. In order to appeal to a wider audience, the portfolio was supplemented by the I AM brand.
In 2010 the company began to expand beyond Europe. To this end, Ulrich Beckmann and his brother Frank Beckmann invested in the construction of a distribution center in Cologne-Kalk, which was realized together with Malorg Consulting, a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics , and the general contractor SSI Schäfer . The entire system works (according to Malorg Consulting) in a CO 2 -neutral manner and has energy-efficient dimensioning of the drives and modern control concepts based on solar energy and heat pumps.
The beeline group has locations in Cologne, Atlanta, Paris, Barcelona, Rotterdam, London and Krakow. Beeline products are offered on 24,050 sales areas in 44 countries. According to its own information, 4,500 people were employed worldwide in 2018. In 2016, the group employed an average of 2,560 full-time employees, 2,257 student assistants and marginal part-time employees, and generated sales of 354.8 million euros.
