Accompanied living in families

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When Accompanied living in families is a form of care for disabled people. This form of care was initially designed for mentally disabled people, but in recent years it has also become increasingly popular for mentally disabled people.

The affected people are housed in a foster family . The foster family integrates the disabled person into everyday family life and is supported by specialists in dealing with difficult questions relating to the disability. The aim of assisted living in families is to avoid (usually much more expensive) accommodation in an inpatient facility. The families receive a flat-rate care allowance to cover the cost of food and accommodation.

Accompanied living in families is very different from region to region; Most places are in Baden-Württemberg , North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria , while the performance in the northern and eastern German states is almost unknown. With the Federal Participation Act , this form of benefit was permanently codified in Section 80 of Book IX of the Social Code, previously there were only limited legal bases as a pilot project.
