Jonava synagogue

The Jonava Synagogue (lit. Jonavos sinagoga ) is the only remaining synagogue in the old town of Jonava (at the intersection of Vilniaus and Sodų streets). Jonava is a Lithuanian city in the Jonava Rajong municipality , 35 km away from Kaunas .

The historicist building erected at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century underwent many structural changes. New windows were installed contrary to style, there are hardly any originally preserved decorative details. The interior was completely lost. A bakery has been housed here since the Soviet era.

The building is currently privately owned and its future is uncertain.
