Beiyang

Beiyang ( Chinese  北洋 , Pinyin Běiyáng ) is the Qing period name for the Chinese coastal provinces of Liaoning , Zhili and Shandong .

The University of Beiyang daxue (北洋 大学; English Imperial Tientsin University / Peiyang University) in Tianjin - today's Tianjin University - was named after this term.
