Bekwai is a place with over 5000 inhabitants in Ghana, West Africa .

Bekwai is located in the Ashanti region , south of the regional capital Kumasi and north of Obuasi . It is the capital of the Amansie East district .

Infrastructure

There are 37 public telephone booths in Bekwai . (The district has a total of 5,000 telephone lines.) Bekwai is one of 6 parishes in the district where tap water is generally available. The state Bekwai Hospital is also located here . There is a post office and a train station.
