Gluing machine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A gluing machine is a machine that is used in the manufacture of wood-based materials . It is a large-volume drum in which wood chips (especially coarse and peeling chips, strands) are sprayed with glue and other chemicals.

Manufacturing process

Chipboard production, directly in front of the press

Drums with a diameter of 3.5 meters and a length of about 12 meters (example from the production practice of coarse chipboard ) have a capacity of about 25 t / h, the chips are circulated and circulated by the rotation and additionally by lamellae inside the drum slowly transported away by the incline of the drum. The glue is applied via rotary sprayers or atomizers (so-called “ atomizers ”) which spray glue, paraffin , hardener and water onto the strands, the amount varying depending on the type of material, quality, thickness and type of gluing of the materials. In a subsequent manufacturing step, the pretreated chips are converted into materials such as Coarse chipboard pressed.
