Bellampalle is a city in the Indian state of Telangana .

The city is part of the Mancherial district . Bellampalle has the status of a municipality . The city is divided into 29 wards . It had 55,841 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census .

The first coal mine at Bellampalle was opened by the British in 1936. Later the city developed very quickly with the discovery and mining of new coal mines. The local coal production is now operated by the Singareni Collieries Company .
