Bellingshausen Plain

The Bellingshausen Plain (English for Bellingshausen Plain , also known as Bellingshausen Abyssal Plain ) is an abyssal plain in the Antarctic Bellingshausen Sea . It lies far off the coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land .
The plane is named after Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen (1778-1852), head of the first Russian Antarctic expedition (1819-1821), confirmed by the US Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF) since 1974 .
