Belsdorf (Wefensleben)

Belsdorf is a part of the municipality of Wefensleben in Saxony-Anhalt .

The district is located about one kilometer north of Wefensleben in the valley between the Lappwald ridge to the west and the Steinberg to the north . The Aller flows east of the village . Belsdorf has 312 inhabitants (as of November 24, 2006).

history

It was first mentioned in a document on February 5, 1274. Hildebrand von Bartensleben gave a meadow near Beelistorp to the Marienborn monastery in the document . Today's Tangermann farm was built in 1327 . In 1916 a salt mine was put into operation in Belsdorf. The extracted salt was transported by cable car to Wefensleben for further processing. In 1930, in the wake of the global economic crisis, the facilities were shut down, some of the buildings and spoil heaps still standing. On July 1, 1950, Belsdorf was incorporated into the neighboring Wefensleben.

Buildings and monuments

A memorial stone marks the location of the Allendorf desert to the south of Belsdorf . The village church Belsdorf , built in 1867, and the Tangermann farm, which dates back to the 14th century, are located in the village .
