The bendo is a weapon and a tool made in Java .

description

The bendo has a short, single-edged, heavy blade. The blade is narrow at the handle and becomes much wider after a few centimeters. The back of the blade is straight, the blade bulbous and with a deep hollow grinding that runs just below the back. The handle is usually made of wood and has a decoratively carved pommel and slightly bent. The sheaths are made of wood and are artistically decorated with carvings. They consist of two halves that are connected by rattan ribbons . The bendo is used to harvest the sugar palm . The bendo is used by ethnic groups in Java.
