Benedetto Secchi

Benedetto Secchi (born January 28, 1831 in Mondovì ; † 1883 in Rome ) was an Italian singer and composer.

Life

Secchi was a student at the Milan Conservatory from 1844 to 1847; he studied piano and composition with Antonio Angeleri , Felice Frasi and Pietro Ray . The composer, who has been married to the soprano Luigia Bendazzi since 1859 , created works of various genres, including at least two operas that were premiered in Milan . At least the second one is certified with some success. In addition, Secchi worked as a conductor and singing teacher.

The soprano Ernestina Bendazzi (1864–1931) is his daughter.
