Benjamin Irazábal
Benjamín Irazábal is a Uruguayan politician and civil engineer .
Irazábal, a member of the Partido Nacional , graduated from the Faculty of Engineering ("Facultad de Ingeniería") of the Universidad de la República on April 6, 1987 successfully. Even as a student he was politically active in the Por la Patria movement. On July 24, 2009, after the resignation of Carmelo Vidalín, he became his successor in the post of Intendente of the Durazno Department . He was then confirmed in the following election for the period 2010 to 2015 .
