Results of the election of the artistic director

Victorious party of the departments:
  • Partido Nacional
  • Front Amplio
  • Partido Colorado
  • Twelve of the 19 directorships went to candidates from the right-wing conservative Partido Nacional (two more than in 2005), five to candidates from the left-wing Frente Amplio (three less than 2005), and two to the right-wing liberal Partido Colorado (previously a director).

The Colorados got the artistic director's post in Salto from the Frente Amplio, who in turn were able to wrest the post of the Partido Nacional in Artigas, but had to cede the posts in Treinta y Tres, Florida and Paisandú to the Partido Nacional. For the first time, three women were elected as intendent (in Artigas, Montevideo and Lavalleja).
