Marcos Gustavo Carámbula Volpi (born December 23, 1947 in Las Piedras ) is a Uruguayan politician and pulmonologist .

Carámbula sat from 1986 to 1990 with various interruptions, first as a deputy member of the Partido Demócrata Cristiano (Frente Amplio) and from 1990 to 1995 as a member of the Frente Amplio in the entire 43rd legislative period for the Department Canelones in the Cámara de Representantes . In addition, from July 7, 2005, he was the successor of Tabaré Hackenbruch until February 5, 2010, as director of the Department Canelones . His successor was Estanislao Chiazzaro . In 2010, however, Carámbula ran again for election , was re-elected for a second term and has since been Intendente of Canelones again. In addition, from 2003 to 2005 he was President of the Sindicato Médico del Uruguay . He was also temporarily president of the Juventud football club , of which he is now honorary president.
