Armando Castaingdebat

Armando Irineo Castaingdebat Colombo (born October 25, 1959 ) is a Uruguayan politician .

Education and private matters

The path of his school education led through the Escuela No. 3 "José Pedro Varela" , the Liceo Departamental de Flores No. 1 and the Colegio Seminario . He then studied veterinary medicine at the Universidad de la República . He completed this course with a doctorate. Castaingdebat is married and has three children.

Athletic career

Between 1978 and 1987 he was a leading figure at the Porongos football club and was a member of the Flores regional team. He took part with the national student selection on the position of goalkeeper at the 1979 University World Cup in Mexico, where Uruguay was able to secure the runner-up world title. He was able to repeat this success with the university national team at the Universiade 1985 in Kobe . Between 2000 and 2007 he was secretary of the national youth football teams of the Uruguayan football association AUF, also at functionary level in sport.

Political career

Castaingdebat has been a member of the Partido Nacional since 1988 . Since July 8, 2005 he has been Intendente of the Flores Department . In the local elections on May 9, 2010 , he was confirmed by the electorate for a further five-year term.
