Ana Olivera (born December 17, 1953 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan politician .

Olivera is a member of the Uruguayan Communist Party and also represents the Frente Amplio . During Tabaré Vázquez 's presidency , she was State Secretary in the Ministry of Social Development between 2005 and 2010. In the local elections on May 9, 2010 , she was then elected Intendente of the Montevideo Department . After the end of her term of office, she resigned from the Intendentenamt on July 9, 2015 and continued her political career on the same day as State Secretary in the Ministry of Social Development under Minister Marina Arismendi .
