Elections in Uruguay 2019

The first round of the presidential and parliamentary elections in Uruguay 2019 took place on Sunday, October 27, 2019.

The President, Vice-President, 30 Senators and 99 MPs were elected. Since none of the presidential candidates received an absolute majority, a run-off election took place on November 24, 2019 .

Presidential election

First, each party elected its candidate in the June 1st primaries .

The first round of the presidential election took place on October 27, 2019. Here reached Daniel Martínez , with 39% the most votes followed by Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou , who came to just under 29%.

Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou just won the runoff election on November 24th. Lacalle Pou received 50.8% of the valid votes, Martínez 49.2%.
