Benjamin Gray

Benjamin Gray (* around 1676; † 1764 ) was an English watchmaker.

In 1704 he married Maria Risdon, with whom he had six sons and the daughter Maria, who later married Justin Vulliamy .

He first worked at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square. On his ascent he moved to St. James. In 1742 he became the royal watchmaker of Georg II . In 1743 he entered into a partnership with Justin Vulliamy (1712–1797), who later also married his daughter. In 1752, Gray moved to Pall Mall .

According to his records, he built 160 small clocks and only 17 large clocks between 1704 and 1726 .
