Benjamin Matthews (born October 10, 1985 in Cologne ) is a German presenter and reporter .

life and career

Matthews began his career on children's radio at the age of 12. Later he completed a traineeship with a focus on moderation at the local broadcaster münchen.tv and RTL München Live in Munich.

TV

In 2008 Matthews worked for RTL Munich and presented the format Wiesn live - The Oktoberfest 2008, presented the format E-Clips Boulevard for Munich TV and for Premiere . In 2008 and 2009 Matthews worked for SWR as a reporter for the DASDING format . In 2011 he moved to Hamburg1, where Matthews was editor-in-chief and moderator for the Frühcafé live format until the end of 2012 . In 2012, he also presented the programs Hafengeburtstag XXL (awarded the METROPOLITAN 2012 in the best special program category) as well as the young vegetables (cooking show) format he developed, also on Hamburg1.

In 2009 Matthews worked as a freelance author, reporter and speaker for Bayerischer Rundfunk, as a freelance author and reporter he also worked for KAKADU at Deutschlandradio Kultur and as editor and service moderator at SWR1 Baden-Württemberg. 2010–2011 Ben Matthews worked as a radio host for Hit-Radio Antenne Niedersachsen. As Ben from the traffic control center , he presented the latest traffic service for Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg every day in the morning show, and could be heard as a sidekick in the Schollmayer family . Since the end of 2012 he has been back as editor and service moderator at SWR1 Baden-Württemberg, in the formats SWR1 der Afternoon and Guten Morgen Baden-Württemberg. Since 2015 he has moderated at NDR 1 Radio MV .

In 2005 Matthews played the guest role Fluffy in episode 100 of the RTL series Nikola , directed by Christopher Schnee. In 2006 he appeared in the episodic role of Carsten Pollok in several episodes of the ARD early evening series Marienhof (director: Dieter Schlotterbeck and others). In 2009 Matthews was seen as Pete in the series Schloss Einstein (ARD) in episode 569.
