The Bennett Escarpment is a step in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the Prince Charles Mountains , it extends curved from Mount Pollard in a mainly southwest orientation over a distance of 32 km.

The terrain level was mapped using aerial photographs taken between 1956 and 1965 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named it after the physicist John Michael Bennett, who was working on investigations into the aurora borealis at Mawson Station in 1965 .
