Jesse Bennett "Benny" Perrin (* 20th October 1959 in Orange County , California ; 3. February 2017 in Decatur , Alabama ) was an American American football poker players. He played four seasons in the position of safety for the St. Louis Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL).

Life

Perrin attended Decature High School, where he was a football star. He then went to the University of Alabama , where he played college football from 1978 to 1981 . There he won the national championship twice and was a starter in his last two seasons. In the 1982 NFL Draft , he was selected in the third round by the St. Louis Cardinals. In his first season he was elected to the all-rookie team. He played three more seasons and was nominated as an alternate player for the Pro Bowl in 1984. He made nine interceptions in his career . After the career, he suffered from headaches and blurred vision. He was one of 4,500 former players who successfully sued the NFL. He died on February 3, 2017 after having committed suicide with a gun.
