Benton test
The Benton test , also known as the Benton Visual Retention Test , examines the memory for visual- spatial stimuli . It is used for the diagnostic work-up of organic brain damage and is one of the most popular tests of its kind.
procedure
The examiner shows the patient standardized stimulus cards with geometric patterns for a few seconds each. Then the patient should draw the respective pattern immediately after the performance. In the case of an alternative application, the patient should either copy the pattern or select patterns from templates.
