The Bergamo Lions are an Italian American football - team and one of the most successful amateur - teams in Europe . The team was founded in 1983.
history
Founded in 1983, the Lions competed in Italy's second division, Serie B, in the 1984 season. A year later they started in the highest Italian league.
In the Superbowl italiano , the final of the Italian championship, they moved in for the first time in 1992 and were subject to the Pharaones Milano . A year later they were able to prevail in their second final against the Gladiatori Roma . As Italian champions they took part in the European Football League in 1994 and only had to admit defeat to the London Olympians in the final .
The Lions won the Eurobowl in 2000, 2001 and 2002. In 2004 and 2005 they failed in the finals at the Chrysler Vikings . In Italy they are serial champions, from 1998 to 2008 they each won the title of Italian master.
The Lions participated in the Football League of Europe (FLE) in 1995 .
