The Bergfeldsee is a quarry pond in Poing in Upper Bavaria , which was later considerably expanded and turned into a local recreation area. The area is 49,000 m², of which 13,000 m² is water surface. A small beer garden, two volleyball sand courts and a parking lot complete the leisure offer.
history
The lake was opened as a recreational and bathing lake on July 30, 2005 and officially named Bergfeldsee two years later . In the summer of 2009, a large-scale expansion took place, which included, among other things, clearing the area with archaeological observation and removing the gravel. The breakthrough to the swimming lake followed. Beach volleyball fields and a water playground were created in 2010, and the green areas were planted in 2011.
A 16 m² bathing island has been floating in the middle of the lake since 2011. The bathing island was dismantled on June 13, 2019 after consulting the Poing municipality's insurance company.
