Bergsøysundbrua ( German "Bergsöysund Bridge" ) is a floating bridge on the European route 39 south of Kristiansund in Norway . The structure has a total span of 845 m. The bridge is designed for tide fluctuations of ± 2.0 m.
The floating bridge, curved with a radius of 1300 m, rests on seven pontoons and is only held horizontally in the abutments . The pontoons have nine watertight chambers, are made of lightweight concrete and are 34 m long, 20 m wide and 6 m or 7 m high. The draft is four meters.
The superstructure has a continuous girder in the longitudinal direction as a structural system with bay widths of 105 m and with a bridge width of 11.2 m consists of a 7 m high steel tube framework. The truss belts have a diameter of up to 102 cm with a wall thickness of 55 mm.
