At Bergstrasse 15 and 17 in the Schleiden district of Gemünd ( Euskirchen district , North Rhine-Westphalia ) there are two other monuments in addition to the fortress . The client was Peter Schlagloth from Cologne , who had bought the Trutzburg, Bergstrasse 5. At a different time and in different styles, he had two two-storey villas with a side entrance area and stair tower built. Both houses were built by master builder Eduard Schön from Gemünd. Bergstrasse 15 is a plastered brick villa in neo-renaissance style, built in 1885, number 17 as a half-timbered villa in Swiss country house style, built in 1901, today it is called Haus Marienfels . Number 15 was badly damaged in World War II. Due to numerous modifications, both no longer show the original condition.
