Berkun Oya
Berkun Oya (born March 3, 1977 in Bursa ) is a Turkish theater writer and director.
Life
Berkun Oya graduated from the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in Istanbul in 1998 and founded the independent theater group Krek , with which he realizes his own plays. In 2010 he received an author residency at London's Royal Court Theater .
His first feature film İyi Seneler Londra ( Happy New Year - London ) from 2007 was shown at the opening of the European Independent Film Festival 2008.
In 2011, his play Schöne Dinge are on our side was awarded the “ Heidelberger Stückemarkt authors ' award” and is part of the repertoire of the Heidelberg Theater .
Berkun Oya lives in Istanbul.
