Author's Prize of the Heidelberger Stückemarkt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The authors' price of the Heidelberger Stückemarkt ( original spelling ) is a playwright's prize for German-language plays that have not yet premiered. At the same time, it has been the main prize of the Heidelberg Stückemarkt theater festival, which has been awarded since 1999, which focuses on new contemporary drama . A similar prize had previously been awarded by the Frankfurt Authors' Foundation.

From the entries in the German-language authors' competition by nominated authors from previous editions, publishers and degree programs, the festival management and the dramaturges of the Heidelberg Theater and Orchestra nominate up to seven dramatic texts that have not yet been premiered, which will be presented in staged readings by members of the Heidelberg drama ensemble . A jury made up of theater makers and playwrights awards this highly endowed main prize of the theater festival. The prize money of 10,000 euros is provided by the Manfred Lautenschläger Foundation .
