Ulf Schmidt (* 1966 in Braunschweig ) is a German playwright , theater expert , blogger and playwright. The main topics of his paperwork are the social effects of digitization and the economization of society.

Life

Ulf Schmidt studied theater studies, German literature and philosophy in Munich , Paris and Frankfurt am Main . During his studies he worked part-time, then for several years full-time as a paramedic in Frankfurt, where he was also active on the works council .

For the play Der Marienthaler Dachs , which is based on the sociological study “ The Unemployed of Marienthal ”, Schmidt chose an unusual scenic and textual form: the author provides for the audience to move freely between different, parallel scenes. For the production "The Jago Principle" based on Othello by William Shakespeare , the model of the "Writers Room" was used for the first time in a public theater in German-speaking countries, as it is used in TV productions, particularly in the USA.
