The Blue Wonder (play)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Blue Wonder is a play by Thomas Freyer and Ulf Schmidt . It is based on New Right texts . Even before the premiere on January 26, 2019 at the Dresden State Theater , it caused debate.

background

The piece is grotesque . It wants to show what happens when the demands of the New Right are implemented. Ulf Schmidt and Thomas Freyer developed it from quotations from AfD policymakers such as Alexander Gauland or Björn Höcke , programmatic writings and party programs. Martin Machowecz said at the time that it calls for people to fight against the AfD . The two-hour production by Volker Lösch was created in cooperation with Tolerave e. V., an alliance of Dresden cultural workers, and other Dresden initiatives against racism .

action

With a course to the right and the log book Blue Book , which has an answer to all questions, Dresden citizens set off to new shores by steamboat. Because “it can't go on like this”, something has to “change”, are the slogans. Everything is in the book: how women should behave, how the Germans should have more children of their own and what to do with the non-German crew. The travelers are convinced: The Blue Book must be implemented consistently, doubts are undesirable.
