Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz Prize for Drama

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz Prize for Drama of the City of Jena , as it is called in full, was set up in 1996 as a competition prize for young playwrights . With this theater award , the city of Jena wants to remember Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz , who had a very “productive creative period” in Thuringia in 1776, as the city fathers stated. However, under the motto “give the homeless a home”, the donors want to “encourage discussion of drama”.

The award, which is presented every three years in close cooperation with the Theaterhaus Jena , is endowed with a total of 10,000 euros.
