Elias Andersson (born January 31, 1996 ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder made his debut in Swedish professional football in 2013.

Career

Andersson comes from the youth of Hässleholms IF . In 2010 he moved to the youth department of Helsingborgs IF . While he was going through the individual youth teams there, the Svenska Fotbollförbundet nominated him for the Swedish junior national teams . In 2013 he moved up to his club's professional squad and made his debut as the youngest player in the club's history in the Allsvenskan when he was substituted on April 15 in the game against Mjällby AIF . While he played a large part of the remaining season with the farm team HIF Akademi , he completed a total of four top division games and led the Swedish U-17 national team as team captain at the U-17 European Championships in 2013 to the semi-finals and at the U-17 World Cup in 2013 for the third Space. In the following season he had established himself in the professional squad of Helsingborgs IF, although he came to irregular appearances under coach Roar Hansen .

In February 2015 Helsingborgs IF Andersson awarded the second division club Varbergs BoIS to the Superettan . At his new club he was a regular player right from the start, in the second division season 2015 he was in the starting line-up in 24 of his 27 season appearances and reached fifth place in the table with the team. After he returned to his home club at the end of the season, the clubs agreed on a permanent transfer of the player shortly before the start of the season of the following season in March. With three goals and six assists, he was then again a factor in repeating fifth place in the table.

In the summer of 2017, Andersson moved back to the Allsvenskan and joined the newly promoted IK Sirius , who had established himself in the top third of the table in the first half of the season. At his new club, he received a contract valid until the end of 2020. After he was eligible to play when the transfer window opened on July 15, he was in the starting line-up.
