The Hässleholms IF is a Swedish sports club from the southern Swedish city of Hässleholm . The club's main sport is football , and the team has played nine seasons in the second division in its history.
history
Hässleholms IF was founded in May 1922. After the team had started under class for a long time, they rose to the third division in 1955. There she sat down first in the middle of the table before 1960 succeeded in the relay win in Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland due to the better goal difference against the tied competitor IFK Karlshamn . The level in the second highest Swedish league was too high for the promoted team, after four victories this season, the club rose again as bottom of the table together with IF Saab and Gunnarstorps IF . Right from the start, the team played for promotion, but had to wait three seasons before winning the season again.
This time the Hässleholms IF surprised as they were promoted to the second division and finished third behind Östers IF, three points behind leaders Grimsås IF . However, the team could not confirm the good result and ended the season after next on a relegation zone. As relegated, the club won the relay after a three-way battle with IFK Kristianstad and local rivals IFK Hässleholm , but the stay in the second division lasted only two years. First, Hässleholms IF played for the return to the second division. In the 1977 season, however, the club fell into the fourth division, and it was not until 1981 that they were promoted again. As a result, the team established itself at the third level, but was mostly in the shadow of local rivals IFK Hässleholm. 1986 victim of a league reform, the club then crashed into the lowlands of the Swedish league pyramid.
Hässleholms IF has been between fifth and sixth division since the late 1990s. In the 2009 season, the club missed as second in the table of the sixth division 4 Skåne Norra only in the promotion round the renewed promotion to the fifth division.
