Berlin electromobile and accumulator factory

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Berlin Electromobil- und Akkumulatorenfabrik Fiedler & Co. KG (BEF) was a German company that manufactured electrically powered trucks from 1900 to 1922 at its production site in Berlin , Puttkamerstraße 19.

Light and heavy electrically powered trucks and delivery vans were made. The first electric truck was a tall, carriage- like car. The car was fitted with a box body on large iron-tyred wooden wheels. Two 2.5 HP electric motors were installed on the rear axle. The driver's workplace was built as a driver's seat without a roof.

Afterwards, municipal vehicles , including electrically powered street cleaning machines, were built. Then the utility vehicle factory Elitewagen AG took over the company.
