history

The association was founded in 1859 by Lina Morgenstern and Adolf Lette . According to the statute from 1871, his intention was:

  1. Instruction of the female sex for their educational profession,
  2. Establishment and maintenance of kindergartens for all classes,
  3. Training of the teachers necessary for the same,
  4. Training of nannies for the family,
  5. Introduction of these principles into the existing custody facilities.

One of the first and most important tasks of the association was to take action against the Prussian kindergarten ban that existed in 1851. Thanks to the initiative of Adolf Lette and Bertha von Marenholtz-Bülow , this was canceled in 1860. The latter was actively involved in the association. She founded the first club kindergarten in 1863, but left the club in the same year and founded the club for family and popular education . In 1874, both associations merged to form the Berlin Froebel Association . The two associations had a total of nine kindergartens, two kindergarten teacher seminars and a nanny institute.

Very soon after it was founded, the association was offering training courses for kindergarten teachers and nannies (Bonnen) and nannies. The seminarians were taught a. a. in:
