Berliner Journalisten is a magazine for journalists that has been published since November 2004. At first the magazine appeared irregularly and with a number of approx. 40 pages. One issue was published in 2004, four issues each year between 2005 and 2007, each with up to 100 pages. Since spring 2008 the magazine has been published every two months.

The magazine was founded as a colleague project by the photographer Bernd Lammel , his wife Bettina Schellong-Lammel ( BILD der Frau , Frau im Trend), the journalist, book author and blogger Burkhard Schröder, and the journalist and PR consultant Bettina-Iduna Kieke . Initially, Kieke acted as editor-in-chief, Lammel as photo boss, Schellong-Lammel as editor and Schröder as chief reporter. Later Kieke and Schröder were editors-in-chief together, then Schröder alone and Kieke acted as editor-in-chief. In September 2007 Schröder left the project. He was followed on a fee basis by Sabine Pamperrien , who also left in November 2008. Heide-Ulrike Wendt , who was previously a permanent columnist for the magazine , has been the editor-in-chief since February 2009 . Kieke continues to work as a proofreader on the project.

The magazine is self-published and according to its own information has a circulation of 19,500 copies (status: 2009). Numbers of subscribers and individual sales are not shown. Free copies go to the Bundestag , the Brandenburg State Parliament and the ministries , among others . Once or twice a year, part of the circulation goes to the members of the German Press Association . The number of pages in the magazine has decreased to around 80 since the end of 2008.
