Berlin Missale Romanum

The Berlin Missale Romanum (Croatian Berlinski misal ) is an illustrated manuscript in Church Slavonic from 1402. It was probably created in Dalmatia . The manuscript contains the missal for the Roman rite ( Missale Romanum ) in Glagolitic script . It consists of 218 parchment leaves and is artistically decorated with numerous colored miniatures and initials .

The manuscript was sent to Rome by the Archbishop of Zadar in 1624 as a template for intended Glagolitic prints. In 1808 it was in Kensington House in London . In 1882 it came to the Royal Prussian Library in Berlin with the Hamilton Collection . It is now in the State Library under the signature slav. Ms. Ham. 444.
