from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Berlin Team Marathon was a marathon in Berlin that took place in January from 1979 to 2009. Until 1990, the event was organized by EBT Berlin and then by SC Charlottenburg . Its special feature was that the starters formed teams of three, which only came into the ranking if they covered the entire route together.

The route consisted of a flat 5 km circuit, which was run eight times, and a small circuit of 2.195 km through the Plänterwald forest .

In addition to the marathon, a 5 km fun run was also offered.

Since 2010 the idea of a team marathon has been continued by the Leipzig Winter Marathon and the Brandenburg Team Marathon.
