Bernard Butler (politician)

Bernard Butler ( September 1, 1886 - March 13, 1959 ) was an Irish politician and was a member of the lower house of the Irish Parliament from 1943 until his death .

Butler was first elected to the Dáil Éireann in 1934 and was able to defend his seat in the next five elections. In his time as an MP he also practiced from 1953 to 1954 the Office of the Lord Mayor of Dublin ( Lord Mayor of Dublin ) from.

In the by -elections made necessary by his death , the Fine Gael politician Richie Ryan was elected to the House of Commons on July 22, 1959.

Butler was the principal of St. Joseph's Boys' National School in Terenure for 30 years .
