Bernd A. Kühnapfel (born August 18, 1960 in Iserlohn ) is a German martial arts grandmaster in Kempo , musician and author.

Life

The son of a master mechanic and a textile saleswoman grew up in Letmathe . In 1980 he was included in the Bundeswehr. His training in martial arts began at the age of 13. Years later, the trained construction fitter attended the Johanniter Federal School in Butzbach to retrain to become a paramedic .

In 1973 he began to train Taekwondo in Letmather LTV. In 1985 his current master - Grand Master of Kempo, Benedetto Stumpf - introduced him to the world of martial arts. On August 1st, 1996 Kühnapfel passed the Kempo Karate exam. On May 1, 1997, he founded the Nihon Kai Dojo in Hagen, which was enlarged on August 14, 2000 with the opening of the Nihon Kai martial arts school. In 2011 it was renamed the Nihon Kai Academy.

Today Kühnapfel also works in the area of ​​violence prevention and de-escalation. The trained Tai Chi and Qi Gong teacher also offers seminars and courses in various institutions.

He writes specialist and non-fiction books in the field of martial arts.
