Bernd Günther

Bernd Günther (born March 24, 1951 in Mettmann ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2009 to 2015 he was mayor of the North Rhine-Westphalian district town of Mettmann.

Life

After completing his apprenticeship, Günther attended the Fachhochschule für Wirtschaft in Düsseldorf and graduated with a degree in business administration. He then successfully studied business administration at the University of Essen . Günther has worked in auditing and taxation since 1981, from 1991 as a self-employed tax advisor and later as a sworn auditor in Mettmann and Dresden . From 1982 to 1984 and from 1998 to 2000 he was in charge of the CDU's SME Association in Mettmann. On August 30, 2009, he was elected mayor as a candidate for the CDU.

Günther is married for the second time and has two children from his first marriage.
